Matthias obtained his Master of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Toronto after completing his Honours Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics from the University of Guelph.
Matthias was first interested in pursuing a career in physiotherapy in high school after badly spraining his ankle in a skateboarding accident when a physiotherapist helped him rehab his ankle in time for wrestling season. He saw how physiotherapists can have a positive impact on people?s lives and help them get back to doing what they love.
Before his Masters, Matthias was a personal trainer and uses individualized exercise prescription in combination with hands-on techniques and education when treating his patients. He believes patients should have an active role in their care and tailors his treatment to help them meet their goals. He is planning on furthering his education in manual therapy, medical acupuncture, and strength and conditioning.
Outside of the clinic you can find Matthias on the golf course or at a Leaf?s game. He also likes to lift weights, run, travel, and play hockey.
